Walk-In Shower Remodel After Leak Damage

From Water Damage to Beautiful Functionality

What started as a hidden leak became an opportunity to build something better. The original second-floor shower pan had failed, sending water into the ceiling of the basement. Once we opened it up, the damage was clear—subfloor rot, mold risk, and compromised structure. That’s when our team stepped in.

We didn’t just patch things up. We took it apart, found the root cause, and rebuilt it with long-term reliability in mind.

Built for Walk-in Shower Remodel

Once we removed the old materials, we reframed key areas to prepare for a new walk-in shower remodel. We reinforced the floor system and added blocking to support the new tile installation. It was essential to ensure everything was solid and ready for waterproofing.

We also reframed the shower opening for a wider, more accessible entry—setting the stage for a zero-entry walk-in shower that blends style with functionality.

Full Tile System and Custom Waterproofing

Next, we installed a full waterproof membrane system using a Schluter Kerdi-style pan. This was critical for protecting the newly reinforced subfloor. From there, our tile work began.

The floor features a modern white tile with gentle slope for drainage. On the walls, a rich patterned dark gray tile adds depth and contrast. The transformation was dramatic.

Everything was customized for this specific walk-in shower remodel, including a clean soap niche built into the wall tile layout.

Sleek Plumbing, Electrical, and Upgrades

We didn’t stop at surface finishes. We replaced all the shower plumbing with upgraded valves and fixtures. Electrical got attention too—we installed a modern vent fan with an integrated LED light and Bluetooth speaker. It’s quieter, smarter, and more enjoyable to use.

These details helped elevate this walk-in shower remodel into something far beyond a typical repair job.

Final Details Make It Shine

We installed a quiet vent fan with a built-in light and Bluetooth speaker, improving both function and comfort. While the nearby closet and doors were already in place, the upgraded fan added convenience without compromising the style.

With all plumbing and electrical systems double-checked, the space is now safer, smarter, and leak-free.

This walk-in shower remodel not only fixed a hidden problem—it created a bathroom that feels high-end, peaceful, and built to last.

Why This Project Matters

It’s not just about replacing tile or fixing a leak. A quality walk-in shower remodel transforms how a space feels every day. We take pride in getting the structure right, the style sharp, and the finish tight.

This remodel now gives the homeowner peace of mind and a better experience—every time they step inside.
